Shimkus Takes Important Step Towards TSCA Reform

By February 28, 2014Economy, Energy

The NAM applauds House Energy and Commerce, Environment and the Economy Subcommittee Chairman John Shimkus (R-IL) for his leadership in pursuing reform to this country’s most out-dated environmental statute, TSCA. Manufacturers are committed to producing safe, innovative and sustainable products that provide essential benefits to consumers while protecting human health and the environment.

To accomplish this, we need to modernize TSCA and restore the public’s faith in our chemical laws while ensuring manufacturers have the regulatory certainty necessary to serve markets throughout the country and across the globe. The NAM looks forward to working with our members and the members of the House of Representatives on this important legislative effort.
