Ford Motor Vehicles, an NAM member company, announced today that it will create over 5,000 new jobs next year with the launch of 23 new vehicles and three new manufacturing facilities.

According to Raj Nair, group vice president, Ford global product development, the growth is a result of Ford’s effort to make 2014 the “most ambitious global launch year ever to meet customer demand for our products around the world.”

The nation’s automobile industry represents a significant portion of the country’s manufacturing base, and it is a pivotal piece of the economy. A vibrant and growing auto sector is good news for manufacturers’ competitiveness here and abroad. The NAM congratulates Ford on this exciting announcement.
