With the debt ceiling and budget resolution at least temporarily resolved, manufacturers are continuing to engage on comprehensive immigration reform. The NAM and our members have been leading on this issue since the beginning and today we again take our case to Capitol Hill.
The NAM is a leading sponsor of a fly-in, entitled “Americans for Reform: Immigration Reform for our Economy, Faith and Security,” that is bringing over 600 leaders from more than 100 congressional districts across the country to meet with members of Congress.
The House is working its way through legislation and we’re hopeful based on comments that indicate a desire to take up the issue this year. Manufacturers know that it’s essential to our economic and national security – and that it’s the right thing to do. We’ll continue taking our case to policymakers until immigration reform becomes a reality.
