Bayer Advanced Float Wins Rose Parade Award

By January 5, 2012General

On New Year’s Day Bayer Advanced entered a float in the annual Rose Parade in Pasadena, California. The Bayer Advanced Garden of Imagination Rose Parade float won the Director’s Trophy for outstanding artistic merit in design and floral presentation. This is the 11th trophy Bayer Advanced has received in 12 years of participation.

The Bayer Advanced 2012 Rose Parade Float The float tells the story of Rex and Lance Walheim – brothers who grew up working in their family garden. Featuring more than 20,000 roses, the Walheim brothers say the float symbolizes the ideas and dreams of every individual. A rocket contrail made of roses extends 30 feet into the air from the float.

Rex Walheim is a NASA astronaut and has served as mission specialist on three shuttle missions, including Atlantis. Lance Walheim is a horticulturist and is the Bayer Advanced Rose Care expert.

The Bayer Advanced float is a great symbol of modern manufacturing that requires imagination and innovation. Both are key components for developing new products to keep manufacturing in the U.S. competitive.

Congratulations to Bayer Advanced!
