Friday Factory Tune: Money, plus Summertime Blues

By April 15, 2011General

With the tax filing day around the corner, it just seems like a good time to reaffirm money, that’s what I want.

That’s the Flying Lizards covering  Barrett Strong‘s “Money.”

For sophomore music appreciation class, dare to compare the Flying Lizards’ version of “Summertime Blues” to Alan Jackson’s. Worst performance: The Who, Live at Leeds. Extra credit: Why Blue Cheer rocks especially hard.

And the original, still the best, Eddie Cochran. Today, he’d have to settle for an unpaid internship.
