Friday Factory Tune: 15 Feet of Pure White Snow

Dig through the metaphorical slush of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and you find a line or two relevant to the mid-Atlantic this week, especially for those frustrated by the empty shelves at the grocery store:

I can’t even find
Anything worth stealing
Under fifteen feet of pure white snow

And isn’t it time we start worrying about floods? The snow will all melt soon enough. As Nick explained in “Tupelo,” remarking upon the arrival of a big black cloud:  “Ya can say these streets are rivers, Ya can call these rivers streets.”
