Survey Shows Manufacturers Growing a Bit More Positive

By November 5, 2009Economy

A recent survey of 403 members of the National Association of Manufacturers reveals that 55 percent had a positive business outlook in the third quarter, up from 42 percent in the second quarter and 28 percent in the first quarter. Though the overall outlook is positive, the third quarter results suggest most manufacturers expect business conditions to improve gradually over the next year, based on the outlook for sales, pricing power, investment, inventories, employment and wage growth. Roughly two-thirds of respondents don’t expect an upturn in their company’s production until 2010.
