Senate Starts Hearings on Climate Change: Read the Bill!

The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee kicks off Senate consideration of cap-and-command-and-trade-and-control legislation today with a hearing, “Moving America toward a Clean Energy Economy and Reducing Global Warming Pollution: Legislative Tools.”

Legislative tools would be what, exactly? Legislation? As in a bill?

In which case, might we respectfully propose that the Senators start their work by actually reading H.R. 2454, the American Clean Energy and Security Act, i.e., Waxman-Markey.

There’s so much of interest in the legislation. For example, did you know it’s a water resources policy bill?

Well, for all the logrolling, of course there’s going to be water involved.

The New York Times previews the hearing and Senate debate.

Also, the Washington Post over the weekend had a Q&A on the substance of Waxman-Markey.
