California Manufacturers React to State Budget Deal
Wednesday, July 22, 2009Via e-mail, a statement from Jack Stewart, president of the California Manufacturers and Technology Association:
California’s budget stalemate has for too long distracted us from the important work of restoring California’s broken economy. The proposed bi-partisan budget deal before the legislature avoids major tax increases, solves for the projected $26 billion deficit and makes progress on government reform. We encourage state leaders to use the momentum gained by this proposal to continue working on long-term reform and budget stabilization. This includes focusing on rebuilding the California economy and growing jobs, the source of tax revenues for critical government programs.
