“The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act and Small Business”
Subcommittee on Investigations and Oversight
Small firms will testify on the challenges they face in complying with the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, and how the consumer Product Safety Commission can minimize related regulatory burdens.
The Small Business Committee is not the committee of jurisdiction, so no legislation to fix the CPSIA would come from the hearing directly.
This is still a welcome development, the first Congressional hearing (several have been cancelled) on the implementation of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act. The chairman of the subcommittee is Rep. Jason Altmire of Pennsylvania, who appreciates the importance of manufacturing jobs, so we look forward to a good airing of the issues.
