Majority Leader Says House Energy Bill Next Week

From the Office of House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, “House to Adjourn Today in Response to Hurricane Ike”:

“The House will adjourn for the week on Thursday, September 11 so the Texas congressional delegation, whose districts are threatened by Hurricane Ike, may return home.

“I expect to consider a comprehensive energy bill early next week.”

Congress Daily has a good story on the internecine disagremeents among House Democrats on an energy bill, Blue Dogs wanting more energy, Green Cats demanding more subsidies and taxes and limits on domestic production.

And no, Green Cats isn’t standard nomenclature, but just the friendliest description would could think of. Punxsutawney Phillies was way too obscure.
