Cloture Fails on Tax Extenders Bill

By June 17, 2008Energy, Taxation

Still way short. The Senate just voted 52-44 to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R. 6049, the Renewable Energy and Job Creation Act, i.e., the tax extenders bill.  Sixty votes is needed for cloture.

We’ll post the roll call when it becomes available.

UPDATE: Here’s the roll call vote. Sen. Byrd is back and voted, Sen. Kennedy is still out, and the presidential candidates Obama and McCain remain absent, as does Sen. Clinton. Sen. Reid voted no to retain his parliamentary options.
