Brrrr….

gfweather.jpgFrom the BBC:

Global temperatures will drop slightly this year as a result of the cooling effect of the La Nina current in the Pacific, UN meteorologists have said.

The World Meteorological Organization’s secretary-general, Michel Jarraud, told the BBC it was likely that La Nina would continue into the summer.

This would mean global temperatures have not risen since 1998, prompting some to question climate change theory.

We’ve added today’s weather forecast for Grand Forks, North Dakota, since it’s the center of the political universe today. Both Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton are speaking at the state Democratic convention. Thirty-four degrees at the moment.

Don’t worry. Hard temperature data like this won’t stop the eco-nazis. They’re going to keep driving for economic ruin in the name of “saving the planet”. The again, all of the governments looking for new ways to tax people and industry to death will just keep listening to them.

Note BBC corrected its story, running this revised version, which particularly corrects the incorrect statement: “This would mean global temperatures have not risen since 1998, prompting some to question climate change theory.”
It was replaced with: “But this year’s temperatures would still be way above the average – and we would soon exceed the record year of 1998 because of global warming induced by greenhouse gases.”
