The Senate Judiciary committee declined to endorse a measure Thursday that would have saved telecoms such as AT&T and Verizon from anti-wiretapping lawsuits by making the government into the defendant, clearing the way for a full Senate debate on immunity.
Sure seems like some of the anti-immunity posturing is done out of annoyance with the Administration’s refusal to release some documents to the Senate. Stick it to the third party…
