Representative Anna Eshoo (D-CA) headlines our video podcast highlights of “America’s Business with Mike Hambrick,” discussing her recently introduced legislation, H.R. 3800, the Promotion of Health Information Technology (HIT). As Eshoo says, “We live in an information age but our health care system remains mired in a pen and paper past. We have 90 percent of doctors, 80 percent of hospitals still using paper records.”

NAM President John Engler also reports from Japan on the manufacturers’ and trade mission to Asia. In a global economy, it’s going to take attention to pro-competitive policies and regulations to keep up with competitors in Japan and China, Engler observes.

The NAM has a webpage and resources devoted to the trade mission here, www.nam.org/asiatrip.
