As mentioned elsewhere, we were in Corpus Christi last Friday and picked up the local paper, The Corpus Christi Caller Times. On the front page was a photo and story about Alberto Gonzales being the keynote speaker at the 68th annual Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce banquet. But the more interesting tidbit:
“Gonzales is the second prominent Bush administration official to resign and turn up soon after as a keynote speaker for a Corpus Christi event. Political adviser Karl Rove, who resigned in August as Bush’s deputy chief of staff, will headline a Nov. 28 fundraiser for Bay Area Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse.”
The group’s website is www.bacala.net. Somewhat surprised but gratified to see tort reform an early item on Rove’s post-Administration agenda.
