NAM President & CEO John Engler was in the studios of Kansas City public radio station KCUR this morning, talking manufacturing on “Up to Date,” a daily public affairs show.

Steve Kraske of the Kansas City Star was the host, and he asked questions across a full range of manufacturing issues: the EPA’s proposed new ozone regulations, vehicle CAFE standards, America’s educational system and workforce development*, and America’s manufacturing strengths and productivity even in the face of global competition. Really good interview, about 40 minutes worth, which you can listen to by clicking here. KCUR also offers downloads and podcasts.

*Kansas City was the pilot site for the Dream It! Do It! campaign, making a major commitment to the next generation of America’s high-skilled employees.

Cool, thanks for sharing. I’m really interested to see what happens with the new energy bill in regards to our industry thats coming up really soon. The more positive press coverage we can get the better. Also, I do some work with the Auto Alliance and you should check out AutoChoice – its got a lot of info on issues like CAFE standards and is really worth checking out.
