On Thursday the President is headed to Alabama to talk about nuclear energy, visiting the recently restarted Browns Ferry Unit 1. Excellent move.
The White House announced that Bush will tour the Tennessee Valley Authority nuclear plant shortly after 1 p.m. and then make remarks about energy initiatives.
Bush’s visit comes about a month after the plant’s Unit 1 reactor began producing power again after being shut down for safety reasons in 1985. It was the first U.S. nuclear reactor to go online in more than 20 years.
