With Independence Day rapidly approaching, it’s time to start decorating. And there are good odds that your festive banners, table settings, hats and confetti will come from the Beistle Company, the world’s largest manufacturer of party goods.
Producing favors and decorations for more than a century, this Shippensburg, Penn., manufacturer starts with an idea, creates a design, and with multiple steps, turns out a product to liven up your party. In this week’s “Cool Stuff Being Made” video, Beistle’s Kim Pike guides us from a sketch to the finished good to the warehouse and distribution center, with an eye toward the seasonal products that meet the customer’s demand. (That’s Beistle confetti being dropped on Times Square every New Year’s Eve!)
To our friends at the Pennsylvania Cable Network, we say thanks again for bringing us this video tour of a Keystone State manufacturer. And good promo at the end. We didn’t know about the companion book to the video series, PCN Tours. In the meantime, we’re getting the grill ready and putting up the decorations.
