NAM President John Engler on the preposterously named Employee Free Choice Act:
“The card-check legislation destroys one of the fundamental employee rights that we’ve had in this country for many, many decades – the right to a secret ballot, the right to privately decide whether or not you should be part of a union.
“One of the regrettable things in this country today is that unions that haven’t delivered have lost membership, and they’ve decided that the only way to fight back is to change the rules of the game, not to improve their performance.”
