There is a wonderful and long overdue expose of Lou Dobbs in today’s New York Times by David Leonhardt. It begins with Lou’s preposterous claim, that he defended in an interview with Leslie Stahl on the CBS program “Sixty Minutes,” that there had been 7,000 cases of leprosy reported in the U.S. in the last three years. When Stahl challenged him, Lou said, “If we reported it, it’s a fact.” In reality, there have been 7,000 cases of leprosy reported in the last 30 years, not three. Leonhardt also cited Dobbs’ claim that a third of the inmates in the federal prison system are illegal immigrants. Actually, illegal immigrants comprise 6 percent of the federal prison population.
But then, it would take a lot of space to document all of the bogus claims aired by Lou Dobbs. Or as Leonhardt put it, “Mr. Dobbs has a somewhat flexible relationship with reality.” Man does he ever.

god bless NYT for this report that exposed lou dobbs and his xenophobic, comic, and funny team who work with him every day to inflame public about immigration, have one quesion for these guys, if you gonna send these people back home and cost the country 250 B dollars just to deport them, where you and your supporters will find food to survive and fell your belly,
u keep saying that american people are not represented in this bill, are you idiot or u think that your viewer are idiots to buy that argument let me tell you that there are lots of senat., representative were elected by american people, you claim that they are not represented !!! huh, these people were elected by american people to do what is important to the country so please stop making fun of yourself and your audiance.
second thing is leprosy cases which showed how far you can go to serve your political agenda even by lying not only that alson by hidding other facts that won’t serve your cause.

Lou Dobbs speaks for me when he attacks the evil bill that Bush/McCain/Kennedy/Kyl are trying to push down the throat of America. They are giving this country away.. Shame, shame, on them, and bless Lou Dobbs.

The source for the NYT on inmate populations is the D.O.J. Is that the same department run by old “I don’t remember?”
There ain’t much credibility there either
