Thanks to our pal Howard Mortman for alerting us to this piece. Apparently our old buddy Lou has (goose-)stepped in it a bit by comparing his foes on the immigration issue to Nazi SVP of Communications Herman Goering. Didn’t anybody tell Lou that it’s not nice to compare your enemies — or your friends — to Nazis? Never good. Anyway, you can read Howard’s post here and can read more about the whole imbroglio over on Inside Cable News. Josh Gerstein of the New York Sun wrote the original piece here.
Somebody call Imus. Where’s Al Sharpton when you need him….?
UPDATE (By Carter Wood) (8:45 a.m.): Kennt man hier keine Geschichte? Hermann Goering was the commander in chief of the Luftwaffe, Joseph Goebbels was the propaganda minister. When you insult someone as a wicked propagandist, Goebbels, not Goering, is the correct reference.
