ShopFloor Wins First-Ever Pulitzer for Blogging

By April 1, 2007General

Two weeks before the scheduled announcement of the annual Pulitzer Prizes, word has leaked from the prestigious Pulitzer Committee that the first-ever Pulitzer Prize for blogging will be awarded to, the Manufacturers’ Blog.

“This is a great honor,” said NAM President John Engler, “And we are very proud of our blogging team of Pat Cleary, Carter Wood, Bill Canis and Dave Huether.” In an interview, Engler admitted some surprise that such relatively poor writing by Cleary could garner such a coveted prize. “I guess it’s a sign of the times,” he said, adding, “It proves there’s hope for even the poorest writers out there.” Indeed there is. This prize is the first recognition of blogging as a medium, one the Pulitzer Committee has heretofore ignored. The Committee apparently took note of the fact that we doubled our audience this year, from two to four intensely loyal readers.

We just wanted to add our thanks and gratitude to the Pulitzer Committee. We know we write good, that’s obvious, but to have such good-written stuff honored in this way is just so very, very, very great.
