Queen Elizabeth of England is making a state visit to the United States next month, including stops in Virginia to mark the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in the Americas. She visited Historic Jamestowne in 1957 for the 350th anniversary, so this is a case of history meets history.
We’re delighted the Queen and other British travelers will be making the trip, and in the spirit of international comity, offer clear map directions to Williamsburg, Va., where many of the ceremonies will take place. Just go to Google Maps, the “Get Directions” page. Enter London, England, in the “From” box and Williamsburg, Virginia in the “To” box.
Very clear instructions, indeed. Make special note of Direction No. 37.
