“I am delighted that you have joined us, once again, to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. St. Patrick’s Day is an occasion that unites two distinct groups of Americans: those who are of Irish descent, and those who wish they were.”
— President Bush, at yesterday’s appearance with Irish Prime Minster Bertie Ahern
The president got it right yesterday and we just wanted to wish you all — those who are and those who only wish they were — a Happy St. Patrick’s Day. The blogger-in-chief has even marched in the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade many moons ago, the granddaddy of all St. Patty’s Day Parades. A great moment.
Here’s a link to the “How Stuff Works” page on the topic, loaded with info on the man, the day.
Have a great day. And don’t forget to thank an Irishman for saving civilization.
