The Week Ahead: Week of March 5

By March 5, 2007General

This week, we are back from our Board meeting, newly re-energized, and Congress is in session.

Here’s a link to the not-so-robust House schedule thus far. And here’s a link to the Senate schedule. Among the items of interest on the Senate schedule are:

  • On Tuesday, the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee will hold oversight hearings on the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) Program.
  • On Wednesday, The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee will hold hearings, “to examine market constraints on large investments in advanced energy technologies and investigate ways to stimulate additional private-sector investment in the deployment of these technologies.”
  • On Thursday, the Senate Finance Committee will hold hearings on the 2007 trade agenda.
  • Friday: The Labor Department releases its monthly report on the unemployment rate for February.
  • Oh — and thanks to Carter Wood for also pointing out this item, noting that on Tuesday, “Christina Aguilera brings her “Back to Basics” tour to the Staples Center in Los Angeles.” X-Tina returns to LA. Let’s hope she doesn’t decide to shave her head, too.
