The President traveled west of Washington DC to Manassas, Virginia, to visit a manufacturer, Micron Technology, Inc. Here’s a link to a piece we did last fall, linking to a WaPo piece on the company and the enormous economic impact of locating 800 jobs in Manassas. You’ll see the estimates of what each manufacturing dollar has generated around the country, region and state. And, the plant is credited with creating some 1500 retail and service jobs.
Like we say, manufacturing is the job-creating sector. We drive this economy, were glad the President chose this site to talk about the economy. Truth is, without manufacturing, there wouldn’t be much of an economy to talk about.
