More on the 2008 Budget

By February 6, 2007General

On Monday, we promised more info on the President’s 2008 Budget as we got it. Below you will find links to the various Administration fact sheets, by topic. For our part, we’re glad the Administration is looking to continue the tax cuts, since they spur growth — and higher tax receipts. We’re also glad to see the proposed extension of the R&D tax credit. Without R&D, without innovation, we don’t have manufacturing. It’s our lifeblood, it’s where we lead the world. There’s also increased funding for the National Science Foundation, which is good.

The one cloud over all of this is — once again — reduced funding for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). This is a great little program that is worth its weight in gold — and federal dollars — returning far more than its meager investment. We will fight to restore full funding to the MEP, a fight we have won in the past.

Here’s a link to our press release on the budget and here’s a link to all the fact sheets enumerated below.
