Regular readers of Shopfloor may have noticed that last week we snuck in a new feature. Well, we couldn’t allow it to take root until we properly told everyone what we did.
Have you ever noticed that at the end of every blog post there is the “posted by…” line which notes who wrote the item, when they wrote it, along with an opportunity to comment or send the article to a friend? Well, we’ve added another option, “Digg This.”
This feature allows you to submit our content to Digg. Digg is a user driven social content website. Like Wikipedia, everything on Digg is submitted by the community (i.e. you). After you submit content, other people read your submission and ‘Digg’ (vote) what they like best. If your story rocks and receives enough Diggs, it is promoted to the front page for the millions of visitors to see.
We can personally attest to the power of Digg. A few weeks ago, our video on how Duck Tape is made was posted on Digg by a casual visitor. In one weekend, the video was watched 30,000 times!
So, help us promote the content on Shopfloor by Digg-ing articles for us. In order to do this, though, you’ll need to register for an account on Digg.
