Official Washington’s favorite parlor game this time of year is trying to figure out what’s going to be in the President’s State of the Union (SOTU) speech. We mentioned yesterday that the President gave at least one clue this weekend, outlining a plan for health care.
Well, here’s a link to an interview with the President by USA Today’s David Jackson from yesterday that pretty fairly lays out the main points of the speech: Health care, Iraq, energy, education, social security and immigration.
Stay tuned tonight. We’ll be providing more commentary as needed. We’ll be part of a blogger’s briefing with a White House official at noon today and participating in a blogger’s call with Tony Snow later this afternoon. We’ll pass along any insights we get at either of these sessions.
