Here’s another video from the good folks at Selmer — this one showing how a clarinet is made. This 12-minute video shows a clarinet through the process, from grenadilla wood — once plentiful, now rare — through the drilling of the body and tone holes and the nickel silver parts being added.
Famous musicians like the great Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw and Pete Fountain popularized the clarinet as an instrument and millions have heard tit as a result of these greats. But this is your chance to actually watch one being made.
