Global Warming: The Dems’ Agenda

By November 15, 2006Global Warming

Here’s a piece by Margaret Talev of McClatchy News, on Sen. Barbara Boxer’s (D-CA) ascension to the Chair of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and her plans for hearings — and legislation– on global warming. She uses as her legislative model the ill-advised California law that passed this year.

We would only hope that she would take a page out of her predecessor’s book, Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK), who we’ve written about frequently here, and who has a healthy skepticism for the hysteria out there, a skepticism shared by many serious scientists. We only hope Sen. Boxer takes a balanced approach to this very complex issue and doesn’t go down the “ready, fire, aim” path that we’ve seen too often on this issue.

  • Why oh why is legislating against pollutions so bad? Heck even if it doesn’t contribute to global warming, aren’t things like clean air and fewer landfills a good thing?
