The Speaker begins:
We’ve had some outstanding economic news in the last few weeks. The Dow has hit an all-time high, consumer confidence is up, GDP grew, and we expect we’ll see another month of job growth from the Labor Department tomorrow.
This is the area (economics) where people would see the greatest change if control of the House changes parties. Since the GOP tax relief was enacted in 2003, 6.6 million jobs have been created. That’s twice the population of Chicago. Two years of double-digit growth in tax revenues has made the deficit drop. The lower we cut taxes, the lower the deficit goes.
We will continue to work that the American people will see this growth. We will continue to cut taxes, kept tax cuts in place so we can keep the growth coming.
