Well, Summer is over, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy some of the best things about summer, like ice cream.
Ice cream is one of those things that folks don’t always think of as a manufactured product, but like all food, it is. Here’s a 7-1/2-minute video from our friends at South Carolina Educational TV, another in their “Eye Wonder” series, a video tour of the MicroCreamery ice cream plant at Clemson University.
You’ll see the whole process, from the sanitizing of the machines to the milk-based mix, the adding of the flavoring — all the way to the freezing — at -40 degrees F.
