Al Gore Says: ‘I Want My MTV’

By September 2, 2006Global Warming

We got so busy talking about how ahead of the curve we were with the MTV Awards on Thursday night, below, that we missed the big howler of the show: Al Gore’s lecture on global warming.

Yes, you read that right. After all, it’s what you expect in an awards show, right? A lecture about global warming. How would you like to be the sponsor of the commercials that came after that lead balloon? Here’s this from Ankle-Biting Pundits, calling it “the political equivalent of dinner theater” and saying this about our esteemed former Veep:

“[H]e’s gone from being player on the world circuit to the equivalent of the crazy aunt in the attic who everyone feels uncomfortable around when you bring her down for a special occasion.”

ABP goes on to link to this site which describes itself as, “Defending the liberal tradition in history, science, and philosophy.” Bad news there for the Gore-ists, as it appears at least these folks have gone over, and are very skeptical about this whole global warming rant. You can see for yourself by clicking here. (You don’t ‘spose this is Howard Dean, do you…?)

Al Gore on the MTV Video Music Awards? We have more to fear than warming.
