Thanks to Brian Kennedy for sending along this statement from Rep. Richard Pombo (R-CA), the Chair of the House Resources Committee, an expert on matters having to do with energy and energy exploration. We’d flatter ourselves if we thought he was reading our humble little blog, but we agree with this statement, since we made many of the same arguments. As he points out, “Safe production in ANWR alone could deliver 1.5 million barrels per day to California and other West coast states,” adding that, “This would be happening today had President Clinton not vetoed ANWR energy production in 1995.” He’s right. He also tosses in a link to this site on ANWR exploration.
