A federal judge in Maryland has just granted the Retail Industry Leaders Association’s motion for summary judgment, thereby invalidating the state’s Wal-Mart law, a union-backed and ill-advised piece of legislation. You’ll remember this is the one that the Maryland Assistant Attorney General said did not target Wal-Mart. Right. You’ll also recall that AFL-CIO President John Sweeney had planned similar bills in 30+ states, only to spectacularly fail. Now the final blow has been dealt to this turkey as well.
