The Week Ahead: One Step Closer to Lower Energy Prices

By June 26, 2006Energy

As you regular blog readers know, last week the Congress moved one step closer to allowing us to tap our own resources (in order to bring down the price of energy) in a strong bi-partisan vote in the Resources Committee, approving the Deep Ocean Energy Resources (DOER) Act.

On Wednesday of this week, the DOER Act is scheduled for a vote on the floor of the House of Representatives. See the alert we posted below. Please click here to urge your Member of Congress to support this bill. Time to dispense with the speeches about high energy prices and do something about them. We’ll post a link to the Roll Call vote after it’s over, so you can see who voted for higher prices, compare that to their rhetoric at election time.

We’ll say it again: we pay the highest prices, have some of the world’s largest reserves. We’re the only country in the world that limits access to its natural resources. Just ain’t right.

Please weigh in.
