On the Conference Call yesterday (see below), we noted Rep. Tiahrt’s comments that it’s the private sector — not the government — that creates jobs. He made some further comments about competitiveness in general and referenced his role as Chair of the House Economic Competitiveness Caucus. The Caucus has laid out “8 Steps to Competitiveness”, including tax relief, energy self-sufficiency, encouraging innovation and investment and ending lawsuit abuse. There are some laudable goals here, and we applaud his efforts on that front. This is a guy who clearly gets it when talking about what it takes to create a pro-growth economy.
Thanks again to Rep. Tiahrt for his leadership on these issues of critical importance to all manufacturers.
