Friday Follies: Homemade Lightsaber Duel

By March 17, 2006Friday Follies

Friday FolliesGiven that the Blogger in Chief is the oldest blogger on earth, it should come as no surprise that when we found this week’s Friday Follies he delegated his humble apprentice to write on it because he didn’t know much about lightsabers & Star Wars. He’s just too old and un-cool.

It also just so happens that the Blogger’s Apprentice is quite the aficionado when it comes to Star Wars. He owns an actual prop replica of Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber from Return of the Jedi (the subject once of a profile in the Washington Post. It sits on his desk at work, as a Jedi mind control trick daring anyone who crosses him)

The video you are about to watch features two young kids acting out a lightsaber dual…complete with the sound and video effects of the lightsabers and some pretty cool stunt moves. These kids may have too might time on their hands, but its the best home made lightsaber dual we’ve seen since the fat kid was secretly filmed with his lightsaber.

Oh, and if you look closely enough, you’ll notice that their faux movie set is actually a manufacturing plant! Way Cool!!! So this is what goes on during breaks in the back room — who knew? No matter — we just knew we could tie manufacturing into this somehow!.

hey, just a quick correction. Video Sift uses flash and not quick time. So people actually need flashplayer 7. Happily virtually everyone on the planet has flash 7. You should also check out the rest of the site. That is by no means the only interesting video on videosift, although it is definitely a good one.
