Today, the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs — Chaired by Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), will hold a hearing on “Lobbying Reform: Proposals and Issues.” NAM President John Engler will be testifying on the second panel. The hearing begins at 9:30 a.m. EST. Here is a link provided by the Committee to view the hearings live.
Once the testimony starts we will post a copy of his prepared testimony. We will also write a bit more on this topic, to appear in this space on Thursday. Is anyone willing to defend lobbyists in the current climate? Yep, we are. Tune in and see for yourself. Representing manufacturers’ interests is a noble pursuit.[Update]: Here’s a link to Gov. Engler’s testimony and here’s a link to our press release.
