The President Touts the Economy at a Manufacturing Plant

By December 6, 2005General

The President was in Kernersville, North Carolina yesterday talking about the economy. The venue he chose was none other than NAM member John Deere-Hitachi Construction Machinery Corporation. (You might recall we featured Deere in one of our “Cool Stuff Being Made” videos in August.) Always great to see the President at a manufacturing plant. In any event, he made many of the same points we did here on Saturday. The economy’s doing pretty well, but the folks in the mainstream media don’t seem to want to talk about it.

Here’s a link to a transcript of his speech and here’s a link to a fact sheet on the economy.

Our friends at Deere Hitachi really shone last week. The plant looked great, the employees were enthusiastic and great to talk to, and the President seemed to have fun. I thnak D-H for the invite. (Note to White House planners: I do wish the President would take some questions at these events, maybe from the invited guests, for he can handle them well and it gives so much more credibility to the message.)
