Sen. Saxby Chambliss (GA)

By November 17, 2005General

Senator Chambliss just arrived. He commented that, “We’re winning the war on terrorism, but the news media is not reporting it. When you talk to soldiers on the ground, as I have done, you get a great feeling about the mission they’re on and they’re leadership. The war should be run by our military, who is doing a great job of fighting this war.”

He said that the Levin Amendment was “a terrible proposal” to set a timetable for withdrawal of troops. It’s not the way you fight & win wars. To give the enemy your battle plan “sends a terrible message.”
