Sen. John Thune (SD)

By November 17, 2005General

Sen. Thune just walked in…he said that “It is absolutely stunning to me that elected leaders can…use their bully pulpit to cal the President a liar, when they have absolutely no evidence to support it. They are trying to undermine the credibility of the President and attack his character. These are reckless and irresponsible claims.”

On energy: Thune said that “manufacturers are very concerned about energy in South Dakota. We need to lead on this issue. The Energy bill did some good things, but we aren’t doing anything to help ourselves when we refuse to take advantage of the vast resources we have in this country. We have vast resources of coal. We use ethanol in South Dakota. We have to take hold of this situation, develop a goal to become completely independent of foreign sources of energy by X date. We have the means to do it, we need the will.”
