Sen. Craig Thomas (WY)

By November 17, 2005General

Sen. Thomas just dropped in. He focused on spending and the appropiations bills. He said, “The challenge is to get these appropriations bills finished, get reconciliation done. We’ve done a good job getting the energy bill and highway bills done.”

“The energy bill was important to the economy. There is more awareness of the importance of trying to hold down spending. There’s been a good effort by both the Senate and the House to reduce spending in reconciliation. We want people to be able to hold on to more of their own money, because this leads to spending and savings. But we’ve gone out of control on federal spending.”

“I have a bill that would require us to look at every Federal agency program when it’s ten years old, to see if the program still needs to be there, to see how efficient and effective that program is.”
