The Ten Best Films of All Time — Not!

By October 25, 2005Miscellaneous

Every now and then we have to depart from our laser-focus on manufacturing issues to call your attention to some societal ill or cultural outrage. This is one of those times. Total Film magazine, a British publication, has come out with its list of the Top Ten Films of all time. They are as follows:

1. Goodfellas
2. Vertigo
3. Jaws
4. Fight Club
5. The Godfather: Part Two
6. Citizen Kane
7. Tokyo Story
8. The Empire Strikes Back
9. The Lord of the Rings trilogy
10. His Girl Friday

OK, the blogger-in-chief is from New Jersey and can appreciate Goodfellas as much as the next mobster-wannabe, but c’mon — the best film of all time? What gives? No “It’s a Wonderful Life”, “Casablanca”, “Wizard of Oz” on the list. And, what the heck is “Tokyo Story”? We never even heard of it. “His Girl Friday”? Some lame-o Indie classic , no doubt. “Fight Club” is the fourth best movie of all time?

So we invite the most astute blog readers on the planet to weigh in. There’s not a manufacturing film anywhere to be seen on here. Where’s “Gung-Ho”? Anybody have different views about what should be on this list?
