The Washington Post had a very wrong-headed (and lengthy) editorial on Monday about pensions. It was extraordinary in that it was so wrong and in that it attacked Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD), the first time we can recall that happening. In any event, there are 31,000 pensions in this country covering some 44 million people. Most all of these plans are in good shape. And, we want to make sure that any so-called solution to the problem plans doesn’t kill the healthy ones.
In any event, NAM President John Engler can say it better than we can, and has. Watch this space in the coming days for a copy of the letter he sent yesterday to the Post.
