Katrina: Economic Effects

We get about a dozen press calls a day asking what the economic impact of the Hurricane is or will be. Our economist, Dave Huether, has put together this great two-page document that spells out the impact thus far and what we expect the impact on manufacturing and the economy will be. Clearly the impact of a storm, an event of this magnitude will be felt on the national economy as measured in GDP. But will the effects linger through the first half of 2006? Only Huether knows.
