Thanks to NAM International Economist Chi Nguyen, here are some statistics from 2004 that the blogger’s apprentice suggested that we publish:

  • New Orleans port shipped out $36.8 billion of exports and of that, nearly $9.8 billion of exported goods were agricultural and livestock products.
  • New Orleans exported $26.1 billion of manufactured goods.
  • Last year, the U.S. shipped out $39.3 billion of agricultural and livestock products.
  • That means the New Orleans port shipped out a quarter of U.S. agricultural goods.
  • Overall, New Orleans port shipped out 5% of U.S. total exports.
