Friday Follies: Did You Hear the One About the Lawyer and….?

By September 2, 2005Briefly Legal, Friday Follies

fridayfollies.jpg“First thing we do” wrote Shakespeare famously, “Let’s kill all the lawyers.” Ah, what a beleaguered and downtrodden lot, largely reviled by polite civilization and the butt of so many lawyer jokes. Since the blogger-in-chief is a lawyer himself we can’t tell the jokes around him. Actually we can, but we have to tell them very slowly. Goes the first joke: “What’s wrong with lawyer jokes? Lawyers don’t think they’re funny and nobody else thinks they’re jokes.” Ouch!

So in any event, for this first Friday in September, we submit for your consideration, a site dedicated to lawyer jokes and cartoons. The jokes are good, but some of the cartoons are priceless, too, like this one, with the dad reading to the kid from “My First Law Book”, saying, “‘C’ is for “class action”‘. So sad, so true. And among the jokes, one of our favorites about the priest and the lawyer who arrive in heaven together. We first heard this about the Pope, but it still works as is.

So enjoy this treasure trove of lawyer jokes. Some of them we’ve seen before, but sometimes they’re funny all over again. There are enough jokes and cartoons to last you through the weekend. And if you run out, sue somebody!
